Level 2 Award in Food Safety

The aim of this one-day course is to give delegates practical knowledge of the fundamentals of good practice and safe food handling.

Who should attend
The course is recommended for anyone who is working in the catering and hospitality industries, food retail or manufacturing.

Course content
The course is informal and will cover topics including:

  • Simple bacteriology
  • Food poisoning & its prevention
  • Prevention of food contamination
  • Personal hygiene
  • Design of premises & equipment
  • Cleaning & disinfection
  • Pest control
  • Legal requirements under current legislation.

A course book will be provided to you prior to the course. The course will be tailored as far as possible to delegates’ work environment.

Duration
The course is approximately 6 hours long and conducted during one day. The examination is a multiple-choice test, 45 minutes long, taken on the same day.

Qualification
All successful candidates will receive the Nationally Recognised Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering, Retail or Manufacturing.

Delivery

Either in a Shropshire Training venue or on your own site if preferred.
