Jake Maddox, Managing Director of Shropshire Training recently attended a ceremony in Butchers Hall, London to receive the title of The Best Meat Training Provider of the Year 2019.

Over a hundred guests gathered in the dramatically refurbished Livery Hall to see Jake Maddox receive the  award, presented by Keith Fisher (F.Inst.M), Chief Executive of the Institute of Meat. Also presiding over the awards were Tim Dumenil, Master of The Worshipful Company of Butchers and Bill Jermey, Chairman of the Institute of Meat.

Shropshire Training, a specialist meat and poultry industry training provider based in Shropshire was declared ‘Best Meat Training Provider of the Year’ at The Institute of Meat and Worshipful Company of Butchers Annual Awards on 20th February. The annual awards were held in The Butchers Hall, London, home to The Worshipful Company of Butchers, one of the oldest City of London Livery Companies.

The awards have been running for over a quarter of a century and seek to recognise and celebrate excellence in the meat industry. Managing Director of Shropshire Training, Jake Maddox, received his award from Institute of Meat Chief Executive, Keith Fisher (F.Inst.M), himself a fourth generation Master Butcher.

Shropshire Training are an independent training provider delivering training to support the needs of the food industry. Following the reform of many food apprenticeships Shropshire Training have developed bespoke training to service apprenticeships in the butchery, poultry and food manufacturing sectors.

On achieving the ‘Best Meat Training Provider of the Year’ award, Jake said, in such a competitive specialised area it is a great honour to be recognised for this award. We have for many years at Shropshire Training provided training programmes to some of the largest food companies in the UK. We are  especially delighted to be awarded with this award for our work with young apprentices who enter into the meat industry and successfully complete a comprehensive training programme.
